DescriptionMcFarland Clinic has an opening for an energetic an Ophthalmic Assistant for its Ames Eye Care Center. The candidate is expected to be a team player, willing to learn basic ophthalmic techniques as well as the working of advanced ophthalmic equipment.
Responsibilities include: Prepares patients for exams or treatments. Takes visual acuity and preforms basic screening tests. Educates patient and performs ancillary tests.
Education
High School Diploma, GED or HiSET
Graduate from an accredited program for Ophthalmic Assistants preferred.
Certification/License
Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers
Days: Monday - Friday.
Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM.
Experience
Ophthalmic experience preferred but not required/ on the job training available.
Excellent customer service skills and willing to be able to multi-task.
Keyboard and computer experience.
One year of work experience in medical office setting preferred.
